    Sorry, delete "proud"; substitute "embarrased and angry"

  2. On the news the other night I happened to see Pinochetbeing consoledby Thatcher while under house arrest. It was only the rage-induced nosebleed that stopped me kicking the set to pieces.

  3. I saw a relative of one of the thousands of disappeared being interviewed on telly a while back. Interestingly, while the BBC has taught us all to pronounce the nasty, little turd's name as PEE-NO-SHAY, the Chileans pronounce it PINNO-CHET.

    So there you go.
