Parking mad

BBC: Councils lobby government to raise parking fines

… The British Parking Association argues that the differential between the cost of parking all day and the penalty charge for not paying it must increase in order for there to be a deterrent.

For one point, children, can you think of any other way of increasing the difference between the cost of parking all day and the penalty charge for not paying, other than by increasing the penalty charge?

  1. Now that traffic wardens no longer have yellow bands on their hats, does that mean I can now park on their heads?

  2. We could introduce an exponential monetary system, such that for every pound added the value doubles. 3 would be worth twice as much as 2 and 4 would be worth twice as much again. By that method the value differential between the parking fee and the parking fine would be enhanced at the trivial cost of a few slide-rules.

  3. Your commenting system does not like my money. Or my two-spaces after a full-stop.

That was: £3 would be worth twice as much as £2 and £4 would be worth twice as much again.

Might work this time if I don't preview it.

  4. The pound signs work fine until I preview the post, then they get converted into madness. Not sure whether it's the preview that doesn't like my double spaces.... let's see:

This is with one space. Like this.

This is with two. Like this.

I previewed my first post but no preview on this one.
