Apparently, Peru has an annual Gastronomic Festival of the Cat. Sadly, so-called ‘animal rights’ activists are now on the case. I'm off down the travel agent's to book a trip while I still can.

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat cat, but I don't understand why there are not protesters outside every (non-vegetarian) restaurant in the world if they will protest at this! Why is eating a cat any worse than eating a cow or pig (other than the taste perhaps)? They aren't even any cuter than little fluffy bunnies, and you can buy those in my local butcher's.
Madness.
Quite agree. And, while we're at it, why is it acceptable to cull badgers for (allegedly) spreading bovine TB, but not acceptable to cull cats for (definitely) spreading Toxoplasma gondii to human beings, thereby altering their personalities?
