Granta 111: Going Back

by John Freeman (ed.).

A return to form for Granta.

Granta 111: Going Back

As seems only appropriate for an edition entitled Going Back, Granta 111 is something of a return to form, following the frankly dire Granta 110.

Yes, there is still plenty of fiction, but don't let that put you off too much, as there is plenty of good stuff in there. I particularly appreciated war correcpondent Janine di Giovanni's memoir about Sarajevo, and Hal Crowther's self-confessed luddite concerns about modern technology. Some new Mark Twain writing even makes an appearance.
