Darwin in Cambridge

by John van Wyhe.

A useful booklet about Darwin's Cambridge connections.

Darwin in Cambridge

Darwin in Cambridge is a useful, little booklet describing Charles Darwin's connections with the city, both as a university student there, and upon his return from the Beagle voyage. Written by Cambridge historian of science and founder of Darwin Online, John van Wyhe, it is lavishly illustrated with images of documents, engravings, paintings and photographs, many of which I had not seen before. The accompanying text is scholarly, but remains perfectly accessible to the lay reader.

All in all, a very useful booklet for anyone planning to visit Cambridge to do the Darwin sites.
