With all this excitement over Hadfield & the ISS (which I applaud) I think someone should point out that much much further away, there is a little-remembered rover called Opportunity hard at work nine years into it’s 90-day mission, and still making some of its most important discoveries: http://marsrover.nasa.gov/mission/status_opportunityAll.html#sol3303

Warning: One of these so-called tips couldn't be more wrong: cleaning the inside of a teapot is just about the worst thing you can do in terms of tea-making. Teapots need to be tempered.

I remember H.E. Todd visiting our primary school (Elmers Green Primary in Skem). I cannot remember which story he told us, but do remember him going on about the unjustice of the apartheid system, as he had visited South Africa. From this it does appear that his visits were not confined to the UK.

I was going to say the same – we used to live on the Isle of Dogs, facing across to the Cutty Sark. It was a position my wife affectionately described as “the bottom of the U-bend”, which is very obviously upside-down in that photo.

I’m struggling to zoom in to a degree that I could make out an individual house, but our old flat must be on there somewhere.
