This is my kind of book: a collection of essays by different writers about places that matter to them.
The places in question range from a Devon Village to Liverpool’s famous ‘tipping buckets’, from Arizona to a Norfolk fen, and from the Clifton Suspension Bridge to the Canadian Arctic.
As with all such collections, I enjoyed some of the essays more than others, but the hit-rate was pleasingly high.
A very enjoyable collection.
