Unusually for Granta, this edition didn't have an official theme. Just the usual good, solid writing. A bit less fiction this time, which was welcome. Surprisingly, the piece which I found most interesting was one about corruption in India. Who'd have thought it? Will Self's piece on JG Ballard was also rather engaging.
As usual, plenty of good stuff interspersed with some not-so-good stuff. Don't get me started on the piece called Lost Cat.
