by Colin Elford.
A rather special book from a forest ranger.
This book documents one year in the life of a forest ranger in southern England. It revolves mainly around deer-culling, but don't let that put you off. Colin Elford is the real McCoy, and writes as such: plain woodsman's words, with no pretentious arty-fartiness. I really enjoyed it. Lovely illustrations too.
