‘Vertigo’ by W.G. Sebald

Look, I am officially giving up trying to describe Sebald’s books. They are unlike anything you have ever read before. Unless you've read Sebald—in which case, you'll know exactly what to expect.


Postscript, August 2019: I have since re-read Vertigo eight times. Like all of Sebald’s books, it get better with every reading. They’re still pretty indescribable, though. And just as wonderful as ever.
