Enigmatic essays.
I read The Abundance immediately after reading Annie Dillard's earlier collection of essays Teaching a Stone to Talk.
Once again, I was impressed at her skill of choosing off-beat essay topics which often end up making surprisingly profound observations. If anything, I think I preferred this collection.
