Granta 120: Medicine

John Freeman (ed.)

An anthology of illness and its treatment.

Granta 120

This edition of Granta is themed around illness and its treatment.

As ever, my advice to the reader is to skip anything which is obviously fiction, and concentrate on the factual (some of which is first-person fiction, but it is impossible to tell unless you check the Granta website). There is some excellent stuff in there, particularly M.J. Hyland's very moving piece about being diagnosed with M.S., and Terrence Holt's piece, The Perfect Code, about working in a hospital emergency resuscitation unit.

Note: I will receive a small referral fee if you buy this book via one of the above links.
