Darwin's Mentor: John Stevens Henslow 1796-1861

by SM Walters & EA Stow.

The biography of John Stephens Henslow, Charles Darwin's tutor at university, and an all-round, thoroughly good chap.

Darwin's Mentor

John Stevens Henslow was a formative influence on Charles Darwin, who described their meeting as the one circumstance which influenced his career more than any other. Their friendship persisted, in spite of Darwin's eventual atheism and Henslow's never-failing liberal Christian belief, to the end of Henslow's life.

This is a lovely book, printed on top quality, acid-free paper.
