Tolerant, almost to a fault

BBC: Why is Hebden Bridge the lesbian capital?
… There's a stereotype that big cities are more tolerant while rural areas can be more closed-minded. It's not necessarily true, as the existence of Hebden Bridge - a small town with a significantly tolerant community - might suggest.

Tolerant: you can see how I managed to fit in so easily around here.

  1. And yet - the most recent poll would suggest (which by the way I can't get into to cast my vote; I'm feeling disenfranchised) intolerant of Michael Gove - but then there are limits to every man's tolerance...

  2. I get on extremely well with the lesbians next door. They asked me what I would like for my birthday. I was stunned when they gave me a Rolex. It was very nice of them, but I think they misunderstood me when I said, "I wanna watch."

I'll get my coat ............... (just employing a cliche there)

(Incidentally, I would also like to cast my vote in your latest poll but can't get in either.)

  3. Sorry about the poll thing. How very odd. It's a WordPress plugin (i.e. I didn't write it). The last one worked OK. I wondered why nobody was bothering to vote. I'll look into it...

Ah! I think I might have fixed it... For some bizarre reason, an 'expire' date had been set. I have unexpired it. Which I reckon puts me on a par with Jesus.

  4. With Greece in such a state, you could rattle a collecting tin in Hebden Bridge for an hour and probably get enough to buy Lesbos outright.
