I was driving home the other night, listening to the "Prime Quality Beef" CD.
This disc contains lots of material from the so called "Tragic Band" (1974 pick-up band).
I know they weren't in the same style as previous & subsequent line-ups, being not used to Don's way of performing but, the one thing that struck me, after putting any prejudices to one side, was that Don appeared to be really enjoying himself on these recordings. To my way of thinking, the real tradegy was the di Martino brothers input to the "Unconditionally Guaranteed" & "Bluejeans & Moonbeams" albums.
What do you think?
"Unconditionally Guaranteed" and "Bluejeans & Moonbeams" are two albums you simply have to own, even though they are totally awful.
... Could never work out whether that was supposed to be an apology, a refutation of the critics, or a comment on genetics.
There ain't no good, 'n' there ain't no blame...not hip...ain't no aim....
You make the fault.....you cause the blame.........
