Maciej Dakowicz

Remember the name—even if you don't know how to pronounce it. He'll be very famous one day.

I came across Maciej Dakowicz's photographs on Flickr earlier this week, and was frankly stunned. His Cardiff at Night photoset is amazing. If this fantastic shot doesn't grace the cover of the next Arctic Monkeys album, there really is no justice in this world.

I am green with envy.

Curse those pesky Poles, coming over here with all their raw talent!

  1. Do you know anything about his method of working. Does he use a tripod? are any element of the shots manipulated ? What the hell possessed him to go to Cardiff?

  2. I don't know anything about his method of working, but I'm sure he won't be using a tripod, and the only manipulation will be tweaking exposures/contrast/colour saturation.

This photo of his shows another photographer at work. I'm pretty sure he will be using a similar technique.

  3. I have learned a Polish greeting from a Polish colleague...it is pronounced 'KOOVA'. Apparently, it means peace be with you.
