I don't feel strongly about the 'return and restitution' of the Elgin Marbles. But I do feel strongly that it shouldn't be an isolated event. The United Nations ought to get involved and take depositions from all countries demanding 'return and restitution' of some artifact, person, territory, etc. and then enact their immediate transfer. So, for instance, the bust of Nefertiti goes back to Egypt, Taiwan is handed back to the Chinese, and so on. It'd be interesting to see how many countries would support it or not, and the probably tell the Greeks to 'suck it and shut up'.
