I've always thought that Sublevel D would be a good name for a heavy metal band... I remember from chemistry that the d sublevel group in the periodic table of elements contains the transition metals, whichare included in the heavy metals...
My favourite name for a jazz band is the ' Bill Posters will be' band. It features several ex-Bonzos lile Rhino Rodney Slater & Bob Kerr.
